Fur hats and royalty goes hand in hand. What other texture and material could be more luxurious? Today we are going royal, even if we could never be royals. The British royal family’s ladies always had a great taste in high fashion. Lets have a glimpse at a royal wardrobe, from Elizabeth II to the Duchess of Cambridge.

Russian style fur hats looks posh any winter on the head of the monarch. Elizabeth II and her crown are definitely inseparable. If she goes out during winter, the furry hat might be her best choice. Could she go for a “rabbity”? I talked earlier about Royal Ascot head wear, but how about royal winter fashion. At the eyes of public, royal ladies have to choose a proper and fashionable head wear. Functionality has to be combined with luxury.  Besides the British Royal family’s ladies, we also have to mention the former UK’s  Prime minister Margaret Thatcher’s  and her winter head wear choices. We will not talk about Bearskins, the tall fur caps of ceremonial military, especially about The Royal Family’s guards, because it’s not the matter of royal fashion, so as the matter of tradition.

Elizabeth Alexandra Mary (21 April 1926), the constitutional monarch of sixteen realms of the 53-member Commonwealth of Nation.  While UK is still Kingdom , Her Majesty’s fashion choices are at the eyes of public . As usual there will be some controversy between animal lovers.  In  2010  Elizabeth II and Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, were slammed by UK’s animal lovers. Despite that, fur hats and fur itself have been a royal material for hundred of years. Of course today the real fur can be imitated with artificial one. I doubt that ladies of the Royal family would choose such head wear. Elizabeth II always wore genuine Russian style winter hats. Despite the colour and the model, such furry hats looks stunning and royal on the head of the Monarch.

Princess Diana

People’s  Princess, England Rose, lady D. was know for her charities so as for her fashion choices.  The Princess of Wales was loved and adored by so many. Even her winter fur hats didn’t bother anyone. She was always at the spotlight. With the Russian duchess look, she captured our hearts. Today Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge and the wife of Prince William, is usually compared to the late Princess D.  Their sense of style are thought to be royally magical. However, Princess Diana was born in royalty, while Catherine became one by marrying Prince William.  Still we can sense the same fashion sprite in Duchess of Cambridge as in her late mother in law. It’s sad that these two stunning and generous ladies din’t have a chance to meet.

Camilla The Duchess of Cornwall

Camilla, lady who took the role of Prince Charles wife from Pricess D.  Queen Elizabeth II was not pleased with her son’s choice. Even today we can sense some tension between the head of a royal family and her new daughter in law.  But enough about personal matters, let talk fur fashion.  The Duchess of Cornwall also prefers fur hats as the main head accessory for winter. When you have such title and you are a part of British Royal family, your fashion choices have to be appropriate for any events, both casual and ceremonial.  Camilla’s sense of style is not like Princess D’s, but she rarely makes huge fashion mistakes.

Duchess of Cambridge is known for her elegant and appropriate outfits. She knows how to chose a perfect outfit for the Royal occasions.  Duchess Catherine is a fashion icon from head to toe. She is not afraid to put that Russian style hat on. Kate deserves her royal fashion title, because she is definitely future Princess of fashion. In suits or in a dress she looks stunning.  All she needs is fur.

Pippa Middleton

Sister of the stylish Duchess of Cambridge knows how to look royal as well. Just look at her in a yellow coat and Russian fur hat. Fur hats never goes out of style, especially in the royal ot couture. As the sister of the Royal Family member, she has to look presentable at any formal occasion.  Being at the spotlight is not easy, especially if you’re not from the direct royal family. If a lady is born in a noble family with a royal title, she is brought up with rules and restrictions. Such lady knows how to wear a fur hat during winter or a fascinator during the Royal Ascot season. Pippa is just a regular girl from an ordinary family, just like her sister, who caries a noble title now. With or without fur hat, both of them knows how to look elegant, so as their mother.

Margaret Thatcher

Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom ( from 1979 to 1990) also known as the Iron Lady is not the part of UK’s Royal family, but her strict and elegant style suits any formal occasion. Just look at her, Baroness Thatcher in the famous fox fur hat. How about that: THE FOX FUR HAT THAT HELPED END THE COLD WAR.  Even a small outfit detail can have such political impact. How is it possible to win the cold war by wearing fox fur hats? No matter how tough and iron she was as a politician, as a lady she knew some fashion tricks. Some people say that : “She liked her clothes to be admired, and was susceptible to the good looks of attractive colleagues.” Until today Russians think of her as the twin of Catherine the Great. The fox fur hat might been her key to that strong and powerful look.
